This medieval floor tile, with its Gyron type design, is perhaps one of the quintessential icons of the Middle Ages. Incorporated in large pavement schemes, the design can boast a wonderful tessellating pattern.
Technically, this example appears to display the ‘printed tile’ method; which would suggest a Chiltern ~ Penn manufacturer, circa second half of the Fourteenth century.
