This Bristolian squirrel is depicted on a tin-glazed plate unusually smaller than most.
The witty decorator has taken the opportunity to scale up the squirrel and patterned border for the diminutive plate, displaying a bravado often associated with the Bristol workshops of this period - charm and technique in abundance.
