Fourteenth Century Quarter Size Inlaid Floor Tile Panel.
This four piece inlaid floor panel, with its elliptic quatrefoil design, is made up of quarter sized tiles.
Quarter size tiles measure approximately 5cm to 6cm, and as a four piece format, make up the standard tile size of the medieval period.
Typically, they are incorporated into complex pavement designs, however, unlike their bigger siblings, they seldom survive.
