Anglo-Saxon Glass and Amber Beads ; East Anglia, Fifth to Sixth Century.
Anglo-Saxon Glass and Amber Beads ; East Anglia, Fifth to Sixth Century.
Many thousands of beads have been excavated from early British cemeteries of the fifth and sixth centuries - It is highly likely this group of beads would have been part of an East Anglian inhumation, and would of accompanied more beads and jewellery in the grave.
The group comprises of ten beautiful glass beads and six raw amber beads. Quintessentially Anglo-Saxon in design, they display a range of techniques from the bead maker that were exclusive to the craftspeople of Great Britain at this time.
